The Program

On your introductory visit, our nursing staff will obtain your health history, eating habits, and current weight.

A BMI (Body Mass -Index) will be calculated. ECG (Electrocardiogram) is performed as well as blood pressure and pulse. We also draw one tube of blood to check your thyroid, blood sugar, potassium, as well as liver and kidney function. As you have heard, you should always see a doctor before starting any kind of diet. The first visit should take less than one hour. Our staff will make an appointment for you to see our physician the following week. At that time, your lab results will be in and the physician will do a physical assessment. He will discuss your goals and decide how many calories per day you can eat. At this time, you may also be given prescriptions for "fluid pills" and/or appetite suppressant.

On weekly visits you will be weighed on our state-of-the-art digital scales, have blood pressure and pulse checked, and receive your injection of vitamin B-12. Our nursing staff will offer encouragement, support and answer any questions you may have.
